1. Putra Mosque

“Putra Mosque” is Putrajaya’s most important mosque. The Putra Mosque, which opened in 1999, is located in Putrajaya’s strategic area, near the Prime Minister’s office, Dataran Putra, and Tasik Putrajaya.

Despite its lack of radiance compared to Kuala Terengganu’s Crystal Mosque, the Putra Mosque’s architecture is stunning, with its towers, domes, and intricately decorated interiors. Pink granite was used in the mosque’s construction to give it a rose-coloured appearance.

The Sheikh Omar Mosque in Iraq served as inspiration for the design of the minaret. Keep in mind that the Putra Mosque complex is divided into three distinct sections. Along with serving as a prayer room and a meeting place, they double as multipurpose spaces for events and education (courtyard area). The mosque can accommodate over 15 thousand worshippers all at once.

2. Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin

Masjid-Tuanku-Zainal-Abidin

After the Putra Mosque, the Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque, also known as the Iron Mosque, is the second most important mosque in Putrajaya, Malaysia. It’s in Precinct 3 of Putrajaya, across from the Palace of Justice and next to the Islamic Complex Putrajaya, which houses the religious authority’s headquarters.

The mosque was built to serve about 24,000 people, including government employees working in the city centre and Precincts 2, 3, 4, and 18. The Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque is twice the size of Putra Mosque, which is 2.2 kilometres to the north.

3. Taman Saujana Hijau

This park, one of Putrajaya’s ten beautiful public parks (including the popular Taman Putra Perdana, Taman Botani, Taman Wetland, and others), will transport you to another country! Taman Saujana Hijau is located in Precinct 11 and consists of a hilly area that has been beautifully landscaped.

The park is free to enter, and you’re sure to be blown away by what you find at this 47-hectare public garden. This garden is popular for jogging and leisurely outings such as picnics and wedding photoshoots with pine trees, rolling hills, wooden fencing, and exotic flowers.

4. Seri Perdana (Prime Minister’s Official Residence)

This complex’s architecture is remarkably similar to that of Perdana Putra. The complex is divided into three halls: the Banquet Hall, the VIP Hall, and the Meeting Hall. Naturally, you must also pay attention to other areas of the house. North Park, the Prime Minister’s main residence, South Park, the Administration Office, and the Quarters House are among them.

5. Perdana Putra

The building’s design is influenced by a blend of European, Malay, and Islamic architecture, making it an excellent location for photography. Perdana Putra’s uniqueness includes buildings coloured like clay with green domes. This complex contains numerous halls as well as the Deputy Prime Minister’s and Prime Minister’s offices.

6. Putrajaya Wetlands Park

Located in Malaysia’s Putrajaya, this freshwater wetland park is the world’s largest constructed freshwater Wetland. Here, you will find Malaysia’s first man-made Wetland, which comprises park and wetland areas. A total of 24 wetland cells and the Wetlands Park and other Wetlands areas make up the Putrajaya Wetlands.

In addition to being a wetland, the Wetland is now a wildlife sanctuary, attracting an enormous variety of animals to the combined land-based environment. More than a dozen different local marshland birds and waterbird species have been spotted there. Migratory birds from Northern Hemisphere are also known to frequent the area. Bird watching calls for binoculars. Visitors can also take a stroll, jog, or cycle on the bicycle track.

7. Dataran Putra ( Putra Square)

Visit Putra Square, one of the country’s most prominent landmarks and a symbol of unity, to learn more about the flags of each state in Malaysia. Putra Square is located directly across from the Prime Minister’s office complex.

The square is two concentric plazas divided into star-shaped segments representing Malaysia’s states. The square is a picturesque stop for visitors due to the interplay of paths, water, channels, flower beds, and trees.

8. Istana Kehakiman ( The Justice Place)

The Palace of Justice is a popular destination for tour photographers, locals, and visitors from all over the world. The dome is visible from afar and has a distinctive architecture. It also resembles the Taj Mahal in Agra, India. A large courtyard in front of the Palace of Justice serves as the primary venue for various national-level events throughout the year.

9. China Malaysia Friendship Garden

The Malaysia-China Friendship Park is one of Putrajaya’s newest attractions. It is situated in Floria Porch Park. The goal of this park is to commemorate Malaysia’s and China’s close trade and tourism ties. While visiting this site, take your time to appreciate the unique scenery, plants, and flowers.

Friendship Garden, based on Lignan Garden, also known as Cantonese Garden, is a garden design style that originated in the southern Chinese provinces of Lingnan – Gwongdung and Gwongsai. It is also an excellent place to learn about Chinese landscapes and Feng Shui.

How to get to Putrajaya?

From KL Sentral, take the KLIA Transit to KL Sentral. The fare is approximately RM15/US$ 3.76 per person (one way). If you choose to travel by bus, the pick-up & drop-off point for passengers travelling between Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya is directly across from the Putrajaya Sentral station.

The fare is between RM3/USD.75 and RM5/USD1.25. Taxis will cost between RM40 (US$10.02) and RM50 (US$12.53).

Putrajaya is an amazing place for world travelers to visit. You won’t be disappointed if you ever visit this beautiful city.
