In my recent adventure, I found myself in a place I never thought I’d visit: Saudi Arabia. The hurdles of obtaining a visa, concerns about the language barrier, and other uncertainties had made me apprehensive about the trip. Little did I know that my perception would take a 180-degree turn as soon as I set foot in Jeddah.
My journey began with a brief stopover at Jeddah airport, where I spent three hours in transit. As I looked around and soaked in the atmosphere, I couldn’t help but be intrigued by the bustling airport and the diverse crowd passing through. It was a glimpse into a world I had never expected to experience.
The real surprise, however, awaited me as I boarded a high-speed train to Medina. The landscape that whizzed by was unlike anything I had imagined. The vast expanses of desert, punctuated by modern infrastructure and architecture, painted a picture of a nation in transition.
My initial apprehensions about Saudi Arabia had given way to a sense of curiosity and wonder. I was eager to explore more of this intriguing country, ready to discover the hidden gems and the rich culture that lies beyond my preconceived notions.
As I embarked on this unexpected journey, I couldn’t help but reflect on the power of travel to challenge our perspectives and open our minds to new experiences. Saudi Arabia had become an unexpected destination that had piqued my curiosity and left me eager to explore further.
