Do I need a visa for the Philippines?

Philippines visa

The answer depends on your nationality and duration of stay. ASEAN member countries are exempt from obtaining a visa for stays of up to 30 days, while citizens of other countries might have to apply for a philippines visa in advance.

Following Executive Order No. 408 and subsequent executive issuances amending it, the Department of Foreign Affairs maintains a list of countries whose nationals may enter the Philippines without a visa if their passports are valid for at least six (6) months beyond their intended period of stay.

Additionally, they must have a ticket to return to their country of origin or a ticket to their next destination.

Philippines visa on arrival

Visa on arrival is available to citizens of all countries listed on Executive Order 408. Still, citizens of all other countries are required to apply for visas before any travel plans to the Philippines.

Here is how to get a Philippines visa in 3 easy Steps.

Step-1: Complete the application form in visa.gov.ph

If you’re planning a trip to the Philippines, the first step is to complete the visa application form on visa.gov.ph. This website is designed to make the process of obtaining a Philippine Tourist Visa as quick and easy as possible.

You must provide a recently taken photo and a copy of your passport biodata page to complete the application online. Once you’ve entered all the required information, please print out the form, sign it, and send it to the nearest Philippine Embassy or consulate.

If you need help filling out the form or resubmitting it check out the video here for some direction if you need assistance completing or resubmitting the form.

Step-2: Make an appointment with the Philippines embassy nearest to you.

If you need to make an appointment with the Philippines embassy, there are a few ways to do so. You can call them, email them, or use their online appointment system. Keep in mind that appointment slots tend to fill up fast, so it’s best to schedule your appointment as early as possible to ensure you get the date and time you want.

Additionally, new appointment slots are released every Monday at 8 am, so be sure to check back then if you need help finding a suitable time.

Step-3: Submit your application to Embassy or Consulate.

Prior to submitting your application to the Embassy, it is crucial to ensure that you have all the necessary documents in hand. As previously stated, providing all required documents may result in delays or rejection of your application.

The following documents you must bring with you:

Original Application form with signed on it.

Latest Bank statement 3 Months

To apply for Philippines visa you must:

  • Be a citizen of a country that has diplomatic relations with the Philippines.
  • Not have been convicted of any crime involving moral turpitude.

You must submit all required documents and declarations to apply for a visa or other services from the Philippine Embassy or Consulate. Once you have done so, the Embassy will verify your personal information, which typically takes a few days. Follow all instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and timely application process.

The requirements to qualify for a Philippines Visa are very straightforward. To qualify, you’ll need to provide evidence that you have enough funds to cover your trip, so it’s important to have more than enough money saved up.

Then, when visiting the Philippine Embassy or Consulate, bring all the required documents and ensure they are properly filled out and signed. With proper preparation, you can easily obtain your visa and enjoy your trip to the beautiful Philippines.

Entry Requirements to Philippines

Update: As of now, the Philippines no longer requires a Covid-related vaccine certificate for entry. Instead, travelers are only required to fill up a eTravelpass.

Foreigners—including children—are welcome. There are entry requirements, though. Fully vaccinated individuals are exempt from a pre-departure test if they got the 2nd dose in a two-dose series or a single-dose vaccine more than 14 days before departure.

The Philippine FDA or WHO must approve the vaccine. Children under 15 can travel to the country without vaccinations if they accompany a properly vaccinated foreign parent. Complete the e-Arrival card two days before your travel for a QR Code.

    Hello,
I am a Uk national and I have a fiance in the Philippines and have decided to get married in the Philippines. I would like to stay with my wife when we get married. I am retired with pensions. She is an elementary school teacher. Can I get married whilst just having a tourist visa or do I have to apply for another type of visa before I go to the Philippines.

Hello Robert. Thank you for reaching out. If you are looking to live in the Philippines permanently, there are two options I can suggest. The first option is obtaining an SRRV visa, which is Special Resident Retiree’s Visa. This visa is available to individuals who are at least 35 years old and can meet the financial requirements set by the Philippine Retirement Authority. The second option is to get married to your fiancee and apply for a 13a visa. This visa is considered permanent as long as the marriage remains valid. To apply for the 13a visa, you will need to have a Filipino national partner, a valid marriage certificate recognized by the Philippines, and proof of financial ability to support yourself and your family. It is important to note that while a lot of information is available regarding the 13a visa, it may be beneficial to seek the assistance of a reliable agency to handle the application process for you. Additionally, getting married while on a tourist visa is possible, but please be aware that this may be a more expensive option.

        Hello Hasan,
thank you for your response. I found it very helpful. You say that to get married on a tourist visa would be more expensive. I would be grateful for any other suggestions as to what path that I could take to realise my dreams. I have already looked at the SRRV and found it to be very expensive.
My fiancee is a teacher and has her own house. I would like to get married and stay with her.

Dear Robert, I recommend that you pack your bags and head to the Philippines to live with your soon-to-be wife. Instead of considering the costs associated with SRRV, getting married is a much more affordable option. Make sure to gather all the necessary documents, such as your single status certificate, to facilitate the marriage process in the Philippines. Anything else you may directly email to me [email protected]
          Thank you

Hi there. First need to get a visitor visa. The process is almost similar like any other tourist visa. I think i already mentioned the requirements for a tourist visa. Here is what he needs.
1: Original passport with more than 6-month validity
2: Original bank statements (latest 3 month)
          3: Online visa application form
4: Other supporting documents such as a letter from you
5: A passport size photo etc. The next step is getting married and the process for 13A permeant visa. Hope this helps.

If you wish to invite a foreign guest to the Philippines, you will need to first visit your local barangay office with a cover letter or invitation letter that states the purpose of your invitation. Make sure to bring copies of both you and your guest’s passports. Hope this helps.
