After a long delay of six years, Genting SkyWorlds is ready to embrace the public starting from 8 February 2022. Genting SkyWorlds, a unique theme park that was built based on Rio, Ice Age, Epic and some other unique movie and adventure-inspired worlds, needed an investment of over $800 million (about RM3.35 billion).

There are around 26 rides and attractions on this 26 acres of land, located at a height of 6,000 feet above sea level. The theme park is claimed to take you on an unparalleled adventure.

When Did the Genting SkyWorlds Opening Take Place?

The Genting SkyWorlds theme park officially started its journey on the 8th of this month. As worded by the Head of Theme Park Operations of Resorts World Genting Greg Pearn, opening Genting SkyWorlds during the ongoing pandemic had been a major challenge. Though most attractions are available to the public, the completion of some selected ones is yet to be done.

Genting SkyWorlds is offering a 20% discount on its booking rates from 8 February to 31 March 2022. The bookings can be made through their website or by downloading their mobile app. The one-day ticket cost of Genting SkyWorlds is around RM128 for people of all age groups. As I mentioned earlier, some attractions are still under construction, so these attractions are unavailable to guests as of now.

Major Attractions In Genting SkyWorlds

Genting SkyWorlds Opening

Genting SkyWorlds has nine themed worlds. They are- Central Park, Eagle Mountain, Andromeda Base, Ice Age, Liberty Lane, Epic, Rio, Studio Plaza, and Robots Rivet Town.

Central Park

Central Park

The buzzing town square of Genting SkyWorlds, the Central Park consists of green and breezy Central Park Gardens, Natural History Museum, thrilling ESD Global Defender, Independence Day: Defiance, and a unique event space named Madison Square. All these parts of Central Park are currently operational.

You can enjoy a beautiful water fountain show in Lake of Dreams located in this part of Genting SkyWorlds. There are around ten halal restaurants in this area and five souvenir shops.

Eagle Mountain

Eagle Mountain

Eagle Mountain features the Mad Ramp Peak – Full Throttle Racing that is the world’s first dual-powered roller coaster bike ride. Sadly this part of the theme park hasn’t opened to the public yet.

Even though you can’t experience any attraction at Eagle Mountain as of now, you can try out some delicious halal burgers at the on-site restaurant, Classic Burgers. You can also buy some accessories and souvenirs from Freedom Shop.

Andromeda Base

Andromeda Base

The thrilling galactic escapade, Andromeda Base offers various exciting challenges through Alpha Fighter Pilots, Boot Camp Training, and Terraform Tower Challenge. Another section that is still under construction is yet to be introduced within Andromeda Base.

The section is most probably inspired by the famous horror franchise, Alien vs Predator. Before your mission in Andromeda Base, check out Sergeant Sully’s Juice Boosters for halal healthy juices and EXO Grab ‘N’ Go for soups and snacks.

Ice Age

Mammoth Fun Zone

You can enjoy mammoth-sized fun in this part of the Genting SkyWorlds. This area inspired by the globally famous franchise, Ice Age, consists of Acorn Adventure, Ice Age: Expedition Thin Ice, Mammoth Fun Zone, and Sid’s Rock ‘N’ Slide. Mammoth Fun Zone and Sid’s Rock ‘N’ Slide are currently operational. The other two sections haven’t opened yet.

There are three restaurants in this area serving halal snacks- Peaches’ Cocoa Concoctions, Buck’s Cafe, and Crash and Eddie’s Frozen Treats. Cavern Treasures sells Ice Age themed merchandise and accessories. You can click on some good pictures in the Ice Age Photo Kiosk.

Liberty Lane

Liberty Lane

Liberty Lane, which connects Central Park to Andromeda Base, has been designed after the streets of San Francisco. You will get an exhilarating experience of the attraction Invasion of the Planet of the Apes here once it opens.

You can enjoy crispy, thick, double-fried chips accompanied by Truffle Mayo, Marie Rose, Curry Mustard, Horseradish, and some other dips in Chips and Dips of Liberty Lane. For hot dogs, you can check out the Golden Gate Garage. Foods in both these restaurants are pork-free. You can buy some themed merchandise from Redwoods Trading Post located in the same area.

Epic

For all the Epic fans out there, Genting SkyWorlds has designed this corner. In case you don’t know, Epic is a 2013 American computer-animated film. Epic has two sections- Epic Voyage to Moonhaven and Epic Hummingbird Flyers, both are available to the public. To satiate your hunger, there’s Mub and Grub’s Big Bites food joint and for souvenirs, there’s Epic Gifts. And yes, the food is halal in Mub and Grub’s Big Bites.

Rio

Rio

Themed after the animated film Rio and designed after Rio de Janeiro, this part of the Genting SkyWorlds welcomes you with colourful facades and a lively atmosphere. There are three operational sections in Rio, namely Blue Sky Carousel, Samba Gliders, and Rio Carnaval Chaos!

Santa Teresa Trolley Treats located in Rio serves pork-free tacos and vegetarian snacks. Another food corner named Vila Festa will be introduced here soon. If you want to buy special Rio themed accessories you can step into Rio Mercado. There’s also a playing area for children with three kinds of games in Carnaval Jogos E Premios. For some good music, Samba Urbana awaits you.

Studio Plaza

Studio Plaza

The majestic Studio Plaza has a Halal cafe named Legends Cafe, a pork-free vegetarian restaurant named Han’s Cha Chaan Teng, and a popcorn kiosk named Popcornlicious. So, Studio Plaza is a great place for having some snacks.

Three of these restaurants in Studio Plaza are Muslim-friendly. There’s also a confectionery kiosk in Studio Plaza named Sweet Delights presented by Candy Party. Here you can get candy and confectionery of every kind to satisfy your sweet tooth. Lastly, Genting SkyWorlds’ largest souvenir store, Studio Emporium, is located in this part of the park. In Studio Emporium, you can buy apparel, souvenirs, toys, home decors, etc.

Robots Rivet Town

Robots Rivet Town

Based on the 2005 American animated film Robots, Robots Rivet Town was designed with two attractions- Bigweld’s Zeppelins and Rivet Town Roller. Both of these are adventurous rides that can provide you with a great thrilling experience.

There’s also a confectionery in this area, Aunt Fanny’s Confectionery that serves yummy eclairs, cakes, doughnuts, desserts, etc. And all of these items are pork-free! Flathead Floyd’s Mart of Robots Rivet Town has a wide range of themed toys and accessories.

Genting SkyWorlds opening is definitely a piece of great news for every Malaysian. For those of you who have been waiting for the Genting SkyWorlds opening since 2016, your wait is over.
