Visiting Vermont in Winter is a magical trip to wonderland. Along with experiencing the nature of the cozy homes with chimneys in the hill, the ice-covered bridges will give a magical gateway. To Plan your trip, chalk out your activities first and find transport and accommodation around that. To plan a perfect Winter trip, you need to plan your activities, research where you want to stay, and consider the best time to visit. A road trip to Vermont in the winter is a scenic journey.

Road Route to Vermont: If you are entering Vermont through the northern route like the Greater Toronto area, you can enter Vermont through New York or Quebec. A winter Vermont trip must include mountainside experience, Ben & Jerry’s, maple syrup and more.

If you are planning on skiing, you should drive straight towards Stowe, which is a beautiful English town and a premium location for skiing. You should book your accommodation in any of the lodges nearby Stowe Mountain Resort. After a good night’s rest, head towards the mountain resort for skiing, the resort is known for its “front four” trails. You can pick and choose the height and difficulty levels. The resort has a high-speed gondola, and lifts to send you to your chosen one.

The 37-mile trail network of Trapp family lodge is the perfect skiing arena for beginners. You can also enjoy the Sterling Forest trail, which is beautiful and a perfect place to make wonderful memories with your family. 

Ben & Jerry’s Factory Tour in Waterbury:

The Ben & Jerry’s factory is located at Waterbury, which is about 30 minutes from Stowe and the tour will include free parking. Hence, it’s best to take your own car. The tour takes around half an hour and it includes factory viewing, visual presentation, and the day’s features ice cream flavor for tasting. Daily tours are conducted from 10 in the morning to 6 in the evening.

If you are only visiting the Stowe area, you can also go cider tasting at Cold Hollow Cider Mills, visit the Moss Glen Falls. Mount Mansfield, Vermont’s highest peak standing at 4,393 feet, offers an unforgettable outdoor adventure in Stowe. The mountain’s distinct ridgeline, resembling a human face in profile, features multiple hiking trails catering to various skill levels.

During summer and fall, visitors can either hike to the summit or take the Stowe Mountain Resort’s gondola for panoramic views of the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain. The summit area showcases rare arctic-alpine tundra vegetation, while the surrounding hardwood forests burst with vibrant colors during autumn. Winter transforms the mountain into a premier ski destination, with Stowe Mountain Resort offering world-class slopes and pristine snow conditions.
